Bowling for Dollars: GMAC – A Favor for LeFevour

by Cleveland Frowns on January 6, 2010

If anybody’s going to stop the MAC’s 14-game bowl game losing streak, it’s this guy:

Central Michigan’s record smashing QB, a guy who we wouldn’t at all be mad about a Round 3 flier on, Dan LeFevour.

We understand that Troy has a great quarterback too in Levi Brown, but it’s LeFevour, and the MAC needs a favor.  And it’s the GMAC Bowl, and LeFevour is the G of the MAC.  How could this not be his night?

GMAC Bowl — Central Michigan -3 over Troy (4 units).

We’re 14-14 ATS Bowling for Dollars so far in 2009 (+1 unit).  Last season we were 19-11.

Also, Weis to Kansas City.   We’ll be back tomorrow for the BCS Title game and who knows what else?

Did anyone else just see Josh Cribbs' latest tweet? If this is true, I have lost all faith in anyone that runs my beloved team ever doing anything right.

  • Biki

this is gonna be interesting.. i wonder how much he is asking for.. he's crazy if he thinks he is gonna get D.Hester $$

  • Pittsburgh is for Man Lovers

Just saw that the initial offer was 1.4 mil per year. That's taking lowball to a new extreme if it's true. I hope Holmgren calls him up and says "I was just playin".

  • Chris

There's a long way from now until training camp. I wouldn't read too much into this.

    Biki,

Right now Cribbs is better than Hester in my opinion so unless Hester is severely overpaid, why shouldn't Cribbs get "his" money?

  • smittypop2

    Kyle,

While I strongly agree that Cribbs is better than Hester now…he signed a 4 year-40 million dollar contract last year. Cribbs is never, ever, ever, ever going to get anywhere near that in this league. The last 2 badass return men peaked in about year 2-3 in the league and really drop off after that. I am sure the Browns are keenly aware of this. Hester had 11 TDs in his first 2 years and I think 0 or 1 since. Dante Hall was a madman for a few years and then signed a new contract and pretty much sucked. I think Cribbs should def. get $3-$5M a year and maybe some escalators if he meets some other offensive numbers (receptions, rushing yardage, etc). I would think that is about the highest amount any pure KR is actual worth. What do you guys think?

  • Mike D.

i don't think cribbs should get hester's contract, but that being said, he is a much more versatile player and more valuable to his team.

if put in the right spots, cribbs can be a threat in three phases of the game: returning, running and receiving.

i agree with smitty – give him $3-5m/year and make him and the fans happy

  • Sam Sneeda

    Smitty,
Fair enough…so Hester is overpaid. I just hope no other team will overpay Cribbs to lure him away!

  • Biki

how can any team lure him away? he is under contract with the Browns for 2 more years.. i'm sure they will come to some sort of agreement.. i will say that it is a pretty lowball offer, especially for a guy that plays on offense as well. hester was clearly overpaid and the market has adjusted, but still, PAY THE MAN!

  • Cleveland Frowns

New post on Cribbs. Freshen up.

  • Pittsburgh is for Man Lovers

I am now offering my services to the Cleveland Browns re: contract negotiations since Dawn Aponte has no idea what she is doing.

  • Cleveland Frowns

    I tend to disagree.
