Tony Grossi and The Most Pathetic and Irrelevant Airport in the World

by Cleveland Frowns on August 17, 2012

Ever have a bad day at the airport? Been treated rudely by airport or airline staff? Forced to check a bag that definitely would have fit in the overhead compartment? An extra-handsy pat-down by security? Maybe you’ve had to choose between either throwing away a fancy jar of face cream or missing your flight? Or worse, had a flight delayed for hours, or even canceled?

Well, none of it could have been as bad as what ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi suffered yesterday at Canton-Akron Airport (Note: All of these tweets are 100% real):

Note: If Grossi had tweeted anything else at the airport, including a “thank you,” we’d have posted it here. Also, Canton-Akron Airport is of course the best. (In the extremely unlikely event that you don’t understand the “pathetic and irrelevant” reference, see here.)

    Made my morning.

Good to hear Tony was still able to break down the game. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t get his take. I’m imagining Tony sitting in a Chevette as he listens to the game in the CAK parking lot trying to take down notes with a broken golf pencil on a Sbarro napkin. #thinkingtds #roadtrip

and wearing a faded Michael Stanley t-shirt with the sleeves cut off

Who can make this a photoshop reality?

        • bupalos

Sorry, I can’t get the details quite right because of all the vomit on my screen.

Clearly Grossi hasnt been through LaGuardia lately.

#talkingtoairports with LaGuardia would be like chatting with some mongoloid overflowing out of her low cut-top with a cig-throaty toad voice and skin tags over her stretched-out tattoos.

in comparison CAK is like the loyal, caring, smiling, sun-kissed tight blondes we Ohioans all know and love. We grow em’ here.

CMH would be like a college one-night stand that you didn’t regret too much and you always call her again when you’re back in town. But you’re not exactly bragging to your friends about her.

I’d like to think that the CAK is a big, massive Transformer like Autobot City. Though unlike Autobot City, he (she?) tweets.

  • GrandRapidsRustlers

I propose a giant suck off between Grossi and Booms.

We can use the term suck off only because it may make Booms uncomfortable.

They can go through a set of topics involving current events, NE Ohio, and Cleveland sports. (Think Billy Madison)

Winner gets to stay on the air. Or loser. Have not given it much thought yet since it is still early.

  • CleveLandThatILove

Tony, it’s not CAK’s fault you are on the cheesehead mafia’s no-fly list.

  • bupalos

It’s pretty clear the guy was too drunk to get on the plane, and now he’s looking for someone to blame.

There is nothing wrong with the sound system at CAK, but after 3 1/2 appletinis I’m sure Grossi was confused when he heard they were now boarding for Glenbeigh.

    • CleveLandThatILove

He needs one of those car ignition breathalyzers for his twitter account.

    • ClevelandFrowns

The best part is the way the airport responded to every single person who tweeted at them about this, including the ones who were flaming Grossi.

“Can’t tell if” trolling = the best trolling.

Who would of thunk, but it turns out casinos might not be the economic stimulating powerhouses that some think they are.

“But this approach is utterly misguided, since gambling has often disappointed as a fiscal tool and as an economic-development strategy. As legal gambling has spread, competition for limited dollars has intensified, and the new gambling enterprises seem merely to be siphoning money from elsewhere in the economy instead of generating new economic activity. “This is not an industry that creates wealth,” says Les Bernal, head of the Stop Predatory Gambling Foundation. “It’s an industry that transfers wealth.” And that’s before taking into account the documented social costs, including the disturbing fact that a significant part of gambling revenues comes from problem gamblers.”
